Sarah Made Me Do It!!!

We've all got our demons that force you to make choices that you never thought you would. Mine is a petite white haired gremlin called Sarah. You all know her! How could you not? She's pretty alright. So since meeting Sarah in June last year, I am a lot poorer but richer in bold outrageous makeup that I hardly ever wear. To give myself a bit of credit though, I'm getting a bit more adventurous. Today I'm going to talk you through 4 lipsticks that Sarah has put in my basket for me, bless her!

First up we have Limecrime Chinchilla. I absolutely love this one! I never in a million years thought that I would wear this, but I am obsessed. It's surprisingly wearable for a grey toned lavender lipstick. It's a really nice creamy formula thats an absolute breeze to apply. The pigmentation is ridiculously impressive, it's this opaque within one swipe. I like to wear it with a cool toned smokey eye and a tonne of bronzer, which stops me from looking like a complete ghost!

Next we have Limecrime Velvetine in Salem. It's coming up slightly more red in the photo below but this is a gorgeous matte brown liquid lipstick. Limecrime describe it as touch-proof, transfer-proof, long-wearing and utterly addictive! And I have to agree, it is an incredible formula. It is probably the longest lasting lip product that I have in my collection, The doe foot applicator makes it really easy to apply and really convenient for any top ups on the go. Wicked is also a gorgeous shade if red is more your kinda thing.

Of course there has to be a Mac lipstick in here somewhere. I think Sarah has more Mac lipsticks than  anyone I've ever know. Although I reckon Stacey is up there too! This is the shade Smoked Purple and JESUS CHRIST I love it. It's a deep, dark purple shade that really compliments every skin tone. The matte formula makes it really long lasting and easy to wear, no one wants a glossy dark lipstick, unless you want it halfway across your face that is. An absolute staple for Autumn/Winter (and Spring/Summer!).

Finally we have the wild one, Illamasqua Disciple. Who buys a dark navy lipstick? Obviously the answer is me when under the influence of Sarah. It's an absolute b*tch to apply, purely because it's SO matte. I've found that if I pop on the tiniest bit of lip balm first, it's glides on a little easier and I get a more even colour. I actually like the way this looks against my pale skin, I just think sometimes I'm just not cool enough for it. I'm a bit of a Grandma. I am still yet to venture out of my house wearing this, but it'll happen one day soon. Maybe soon, maybe never.

Other than forcing me to buy all of this face paint, I'm so glad to have met Sarah. I've met some incredible people through blogging, which to be honest is my favourite thing about it. From people like Sarah and Vanessa who I see all of the time (I know, lucky them), to people that I've only met once or twice like LauraStacey, Char, Beth, Saida, I could go on but I'd be here for hours. They're all really good bloggers, but more than that they're lovely people who I'm so happy to know! Enough with the mushy crap! What's your favourite bold lipstick?

Beauty Chat Live Tour

Being one to never pass up on an opportunity, when Lily and Anna announced that they were taking their Beauty Chat on tour I jumped at the chance! Obviously I also had to involve my loves Vanessa and Sarah as well! 4 of my favourite bloggers in one room, what a dream! It was also in Space NK, need I say more?

So being a Midlander, I chose to go to the Nottingham event which was their final night. After Google maps failed me yet again, we finally stumbled across Space NK and my God it was a good one! It had every brand that you could ever dream of. We were greeted by some lovely ladies and some even lovelier champagne and macaroons! With champagne in hand, we made our way into the small crowd and spotted Anna and Lily. Which was a tad surreal to be honest. The both looked absolutely stunning. After a short peruse around the counters we were gathered around and the Q&A portion of the evening began. To say that the questions were varied would be an understatement. It went from 'whats your favourite jam?' to 'best eye cream for dark circles?' and even 'any plans to get engaged?'. Talk about pressure! The girls were so personable and made it a really fun experience. You sometimes worry that people won't be as they seem on their blog/vlogs, but they were even nicer!

Once the Q&A was over, the shopping began! Anna and Lily were hovering around to lend their expertise and meet people individually. We headed over to them and had the nicest chat. They were genuinely an absolute joy, so nice and friendly. So nice that I went into my word vomit mode and started talking about when I left my handbag in the toilet in Whole Foods! Who does that? I'll blame it on the champagne.

After that the shopping commenced. Tickets for the event were £15 which fully redeemable against purchases so I kind of felt like I had £15 for free! I love how my mind works. I've had my eye on the Sarah Chapman Intense Hydration Booster for a while so that went straight into the basket. It does exactly what it says on the tin. It gives serious hydration, which is something that my skin seems to be lacking in at the moment. I also fancied a Nars satin lip pencil, so I picked up the shade Palais Royal. Which is a really pretty berry toned red. I've already worn it a couple of times and it's such a gorgeous versatile shade. It can be applied quite sheer and patted into the lips for more of a stain or you can build the colour up for a more intense look. Now let's all take a moment to appreciate the GOODY BAG! Of course I was going to spend over £50 anyway, this is me we're talking about after all. This is quite possible the best goody bag I've ever had. It's jam packed full of luxurious brands including Sunday Riley, Oskia, Diptyque to name a few. Some serious gems.

The night ended with Jamie's Italian. Porcini Fettuccine, enough said. I hope that they do more dates because it was a really good night and I know that tickets were quite limited this time around. Thanks again to Anna and Lily. Oh and of course Space NK!

London Haul

What does London mean to you? For some it's a place to soak up some culture,  a hectic commute or for some lucky folk it's their home. For me it's a place where my purse goes to die! So with this in mind, Sarah, Vanessa and I planned a trip to the shiny capital! Of course we had to rope in our beloved Laura. London has everything that every beauty lover would ever dream of, Liberty, Selfridges, 10 million Space NK's...need I go on? Thought not. After two glorious days of shopping, eating and a heck load of walking, this is what I ended up with.

The first stop was the Guru Makeup Emporium on Kensington Church St. This shop boasts a variety of hard to find and in high demand brands such as Makeup Forever, Ben Nye and Viseart to name a few. We perused the shelves of beauty treasures for a good hour! In which I managed to accumulate a good stash of MUFE.

(L-R) Aqua Cream in 16, Sens'eyes Waterproof Eye Cleanser, Artist Shadow in M-738,
Aqua Shadow Stick in 8E and Aqua Cream in 17.

If you know me, then you'll know that I feel most at home in a Selfridges. Although the Birmingham store will always have my heart, Oxford Street is a bloody good'un too! It houses some of my all time favourite brands, so I'm sure that you won't be surprised with some of the products coming up next!

(L-R) Origins super spot remover, Mac Snob lipstick, Tom Ford Pussycat, Trish McEvoy Eyeshadow and Liner in Glamorous, Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleon in Smoky Emerald, Charlotte Tilbury Rock N Kohl in Marlene Midnight, Mac Diva lipstick, Illamasqua Kontrol lipstick, Tom Ford eyeshadow duo in Crushed Indigo. (Front) Illamasqua colouring pencil in seize.

Finally, we have the everything else category. Liberty, Space NK and Burberry. The excitement for these products is REAL. Beyond excited to try them out!

(L-R) Mario Badescu Drying Lotion, Aesop Parsley Seed Mask, Burberry Peony Rose lipstick and Nars All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation in Mont Blanc.

I know, I know it's a lot but I work bloody hard for my money and I will spend it however I like, ok? :) If there is anything in particular that you would like a review of, please let me know!
