Makeup lovers in a Mac shop is like putting a kid in a candy shop! The variety that they offer is incredible so there is something for everyone! I have more Mac products than I care to admit. I haven't really regretted any of them to be honest. obviously I have my favourites that I use more than others, but on a whole, they are one of my favourite brands.
Right so here's the low down. Mac are of course renowned for their eyeshadows and lipsticks. I think this is because there are so many colours, textures and finishes. For those that are new to Mac, I have listed their finishes below. Those who are already familiar, skip ahead!
There are also non standard Mac lipsticks but I don't own any of them.
So now that's over, let's get on with the favourites.
First we have the eyeshadows. Here we have Naked Lunch, Patina, Woodwinked, Quarry and Swiss Chocolate (L-R).
Naked Lunch (frost)- Light pink, shimmery and a lovely all across the lid shade.
Patina (frost)- An incredible gold and green hybrid.
Woodwinked (veluxe pearl)- Beautiful gold shade that develops into a lovely bronzey tone when blended into the crease.
Quarry (matte)- Muted purple, perfect for the crease. Looks lovely with green eyes.
Swiss Chocolate (matte)- Lovely warm toned brown. It doesn't look like much when swatched but beautiful when applied.
Next is lipsticks. Quite possibly my favourite category. Everyone that knows me, knows that lipsticks are my weakness. My favourites are Creme Cup, Plumful and Russian Red (top-bottom).
Creme Cup (cremesheen)- The perfect everyday pinky nude shade. It gives a lovely glossy finish as well as being incredibly pigmented.
Plumful (lustre)- A lovely plummy, berry tone. I wore this non stop throughout autumn. Perfect when you don't have much time to do your makeup, as it pulls everything together.
Russian Red (matte)- I can't express my love for this shade. It is my favourite lipstick of all time (big claim there). It suits everyone! It isn't very drying, considering it is a matte finish.
Now steering away from the obvious picks. I love the sheertone blush in breath of Plum. Team this up with Russian red and a simple winged eyeliner, heaven!
Finally we have the Pro Longwear Concealer in NW15. I use this under my eyes, it's the only thing that covers these annoying dark circles that just keep hanging around. It is extremely long lasting, hence the name. It also blends beautifully.
I thought I would just give a nod to a few products the I love and will be repurchasing as soon as I get a chance.
-Pigment in Vanilla
-Mineralized Skin Finish in Soft and Gentle
-Studio Finish Concealer (for blemishes only)
-Eyeshadow in Charcoal Brown (used on eyebrows)
